Early Childhood
Monitoring for Excellence in Early Childhood Programs
We oversee the monitoring of a wide range of early childhood programs, including those funded by Early Head Start, Prevention Initiative, and Early Intervention, recognizing the profound impact these programs have on a child's development during their formative years.
To ensure quality and maximize impact, our Early Childhood Education Monitoring Team uses multiple monitoring tools, including the Home Visit Rating Scales (HOVRS-3), the Prevention Initiative Compliance Checklist (PICC), and the Environment Rating Scale family of products. Our team also created the Prevention Initiative Quality Evaluation Tool (PIQET), and contributed to greater monitoring efficiency and insight by suggesting key tool modifications. Investing in early childhood delivers significant returns: improved health, higher graduation rates, and reduced social service needs. For at-risk families, it offers crucial intervention, fostering essential skills and breaking cycles of disadvantage, ultimately contributing to a more equitable future. Our early childhood monitoring programs support this mission.

Early Head Start
The Vander Weele Group is partnering with the City of Phoenix to ensure their Early Head Start home visiting program delivers the highest quality service to families. Our team of highly qualified and trained observers use the Home Visit Rating Scales (HOVRS-3) to assess performance in home visiting practices and family engagement. We provide detailed feedback to each home visitor, supporting continuous improvement and better outcomes for children and families.
Prevention Initiative
The Vander Weele Group's Prevention Initiative Monitoring Program provides compliance oversight for the Early Childhood Block Grant Prevention Initiative. This program--operated by the Illinois State Board of Education's Early Childhood Department--provides intensive, research-based, and comprehensive child development and family support services for expectant parents and families with children from birth to age three. These services help build a strong foundation for learning and prepare children for later school success.

Early Intervention and
Technical Assistance
