Dr. Kristen Mokofisi serves as the Vander Weele Group’s Director of Fiscal Oversight. Since joining the firm in 2021, Kristen has led the expansion and day-to-day management of the firm’s fiscal monitoring division, providing compliance oversight for grant programs in New Jersey, North Dakota, and Illinois. Under her leadership, the fiscal team has monitored more than $7.7 billion in grant funds supporting pre-K-12 education; community affairs and redevelopment initiatives; labor, finance, and business development; and environmental protection. Kristen has spearheaded the development of several large-scale monitoring programs for implementation by state agencies and manages contracts for integrity monitoring, compliance review, audit, and risk assessment services. Her background in performance psychology and Federal grants management has made her a sought-after expert in managing complex grants, including facilitating cross-functional collaboration and optimizing organizational communication.

Kristen joined the Vander Weele Group with nearly two decades of experience in K-12 education and the healthcare sector as a fiscal and compliance monitor, grant manager and researcher, proposal and contract manager, and teacher. She previously served as State Director of the Title IV-B Grant for the Nevada Department of Education, overseeing the large-scale Federal 21st Century Community Learning Centers Grant, with widespread impact at the state, local, and tribal levels. Kristen was previously designated a Certified Federal Contract Manager by the National Contract Management Association and recently completed coursework through the Project Management Institute. She holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s of art in secondary education from the University of Nevada and a doctorate of philosophy in general psychology with an emphasis in performance psychology from Grand Canyon University.
